Seattle twins Lenny and Cassie find themselves outmatched in a deadly game of shades and shadows perpetrated by Night Shadow who threatens to replace Cassie as the new Queen of the Whelfs.

Since a new whelf queen can only be chosen during the Long Night contest, which is still nearly a year away, Cassie attempts to discover the covert plans of the tricky shadow whelf. This only leads to more mischief and threats that could destroy the lives of important members of her family.

When Lenny and Jenna are caught in a floor collapse during the renovation of his castle, they suddenly vanish leaving perplexing clues behind. Cassy must discover Night Shadow’s secret and rescue Lenny and Jenna or else accept defeat, the queenship and the ultimate respect of the whelfs.
